Merry Christmas! Life has been a whirlwind for the past week or so. I will start with house news: We signed our final escrow papers on Saturday after being jerked around by Fidelity National Title escrow company. Amazingly, they estimated their costs at a low amount and then when the final papers came...surprise, we hate you in the form of $1300! Wow, I bet that never happens! Or maybe they just like to screw people who are anxious to sign closing papers. Anyways, since I was scrutinizing their paperwork because I had a need to make sure I didn't miss anything big, I found a $2400 mistake, in our favor! Can you believe that? Our builder was paying for part of the closing costs. The escrow company conveniently took the money from the builder, but forgot to give us the credit. The builder closed two other homes on Saturday and the mistake was the same on their paperwork. I expect some Thank You food from the other people!
Hopefully the escrow company's mistake won't delay our move-in because we are planning on getting the keys tomorrow night. Packing is going to be a nightmare! I am brining home some boxes today, but a lot of our stuff is just big stuff that can't be packed in boxes. We are getting help from some people at church on Saturday morning. Thank goodness!
Christmas was awesome. Again, I have the most awesome husband in the world! I have been extra moody lately either due to stress or my birth control pills. Even after all that I have put Skyler through, he gets me the most amazing Christmas present ever. He saved it for last so that it was a surprise to me. Hint: It came in a little blue box! Skyler picked out a beautiful bracelet from Tiffany's. It is not "the" Tiffany's bracelet, which is good because I don't like that one, it is a Venetian link bracelet. I love it! I am so thankful to have a husband who loves me, even through the tough times.
