Skyler and I had broken up. I was miserable but getting better as the week went on because Skyler had dropped hints of a possible reconciliation. Mike Chapman asked me to go to lunch on Saturday afternoon. We arrived at Miguel's in Corona and I had no idea what was going to happen.
After ordering our food Mike stepped away from the table to go use the restroom but really he was getting the video camera from Skyler. A minute or two later Skyler walks around the corner, playing his guitar and singing. He serenaded me with "I Want to Grow Old with You," the song from The Wedding Singer (my favorite movie of all time!).
I was completely shocked. It didn't even cross my mind what was happening. He finished singing, dropped to one knee, and held out a box. I didn't even know what to do. He pulled out the most beautiful wedding ring I had ever seen and then he asked me to marry him. I said yes, of course. It is funny to watch the video because I thought when I got proposed to I would be crying or jumping up and down in excitement, but instead I had no emotion. I was in shock! I could not get any emotions out. Even after everything settled down, Mike was about to leave and I was thinking, wait, if he leaves, how will I get home? I hadn't really processed the whole situation yet.
This was the day that Skyler's life and Elise's life became Skyler & Elise's life.

Hey, that's sweet. Don't let Skyler get away. He sounds like a great guy. Miss you!
This was the greatest day of my life. I actually got to go on half of a date with Elise!!! That was a lot of fun tricking you and all.
OH YEA! I totally remember you telling me! WEll, happy proposal day? (i dont know how to spell that!)
I loved that day too. Well, not as much as you. But we knew that he was doing it and could not wait for the phone call. We were so excited for you and Sky. We love you guys and are so grateful that you came to our wedding and met each other for the first time. So, yeah... We feel a little responsible for your beautiful life together. LOL
You guys make an awesome couple. I am so glad I introduced you to each other, even though it meant no more seeing Elise every day of my life...it was worth it to see her end up with someone she loves SO much. Happy Engagement Day!
I love your story. I remember getting several nervous phone calls from Skyler asking if I thought what he was planning was right or good or how he could improve it. He was so cute and nervous about it all.
What a great engagement story. One for the books.
One more thing...We are planning a trip to Disneyland. We were thinking sometime in October, possibly sooner. When are the last of the pleasent beach days? How late in the year could we come and still enjoy a day at the beach?
One more question...Since you are the experts, how crowded is Disneyland during August/September/October. When is the best time to come if we were trying to avoid crowds? What are your season pass blackout dates?
