Since Elise seems to have built up quite a readership here on our blog, I thought I would use it to share some exciting, scary, and kind of sad news.
Over the last year, things have gone quite well for me at my advertising agency. I am a strategic planner and have been involved with several new business pitches as well as developing creative strategy based on consumer research for our existing clients.
The agency has also been doing quite well also in spite of the fact that the rest of the country has been heading for recession. We have begun to do more work than ever for our international clients and this growth has brought a new partnership with an agency in Europe that has led to the opening of our Paris office. We will be opening the shop in July and the agency has asked me, as well as 8 others to be a part of the launch of the new creative shop and I have accepted.
Elise and I are very excited about the move but also are very nervous, and of course we are very sad to leave our families and friends for a couple of years but this opportunity and the substantial raise and a furnished paid for flat that came with it made the offer to good to refuse.
One of our big questions pertaining to this move is "what are we going to do with the house we just bought?" We have thought that through and decided to keep it and rent it out until we come back so if any of you are interested in renting a furnished three bedroom house at a pretty good price, please let us know.
We still have plenty of time to say goodbye and if any of you need a place to stay when you visit paris, we would love to have you.
As far as our blog goes, expect Elise's entries to get more sad in the months leading up to our move and then expect them to be super interesting once our European adventure begins.
Wish us luck!
