Returned With Honor
First, let me get business out of the way. Good News: we saw a celebrity at the airport. Bad News: It was Carrot Top. Oh boy does that guy have some crazy ripped arms. He is as weird-looking in real life as he is in his billboards. There was a paparazzi guy taking video of him. Skyler took some closer pictures but you can see his arms better in this one.
And now onto the big news.......ERIC HAS RETURNED FROM HIS MISSION IN BULGARIA!!! Last night was so awesome! All of my family and several of Eric's friends gathered at LAX for Eric's triumphant return home. From the moment he turned the corner at the customs terminal, I was beaming as a proud sister!
Eric is my younger brother by about 5-1/2 years. Surprisingly, I think we have grown closer over the past two years while he was serving the people of Bulgaria on the other side of the world. We stayed in touch by email and twice-a-year phone calls. I am so proud of my brother for the good work that he did in Bulgaria. He served an honorable mission and now has returned home to spends a few weeks with the family before he is back to school at BYU.
A bunch of Eric's basketball buddies came to the airport to greet Eric. He was so excited to see all of them, probably because he didn't know they were coming.
Eric became an uncle while he was away, so Diego got to meet another member of his family. Eric looked a little awkward holding Diego. He said he didn't know how to hold a baby.
Holly made some Welcome Back signs for Eric. She even researched how to write "Elder" in Bulgarian. They turned out great!
Eric brought back some cool gifts for everyone. These hats are amazing. Skyler had been pretty mellow the whole night for lack of sleep from the previous night, but once this magical hat was placed on his head, he became alive! He started doing this Russian dance. Eric even pulled out a half-decent Russian Beason Bug Dance.
I have so many fun things that I want to do with Eric while he is home, but I know he has many other people to see and things to do. I want him all to myself, but I know that is not possible. For now, I will be happy with the fact that he is safely home and I am the proud sister of a returned missionary!

I'm pretty sure I have had nightmares about Carrot Top. No joke, he seriously freaks me out. Congrats to your brother though! I need your address cause I am having a baby shower out there and wanted to send you an invitation. Miss you guys!
Hey Elise. I was laughing when I saw your blog b/c its very similiar to mine! hahah. Great minds think alike. However, I didn't get the great Carrot Top photo. You have me on that one! Yeah for Eric being home.!
I think i have seen carrot top at the airport before. Weird...
Thats cool your brother is home. I cant wait for Adams sister to get home!
Great news!!! I'm happy to see him home safely. All we need to do now is to tell him that marriage does NOT need to happen within one year. As a matter of fact, the next 4 years as well. Tell him congratulations for me.
I can almost see your giddy-ness in those photos! I'm glad he made it home safely.

PS-here's your SAT/ACT analogy question:
The Bulgarian Hat is to Skyler as WHAT is to Kenny? (Answer: the Rick James shoes.)
Thats awesome! I bet it's fun having him home!
Holy crap, the first two lines of your blog almost made me pee my pants!!! I think you may be funnier than your spouse!
Awe! I am so bumbed that I can't see Eric! I have so many memories of Eric from way back when we were inseparable. He is the closest thing I ever had to a younger brother. Please give him a big squeeze for me and tell him that I am super proud of him for serving an honorable mission. Also wish him luck at BYU. Enjoy your little brother!
