The spread.
David made the fried chicken and it was good! When was the last time you had homemade fried chicken?
Skyler and I made the waffles. We even brought REAL maple syrup from a farm in upstate New York.
Skyler's mom made the collared greens (insert Office joke here).
I premiered my creamed corn (first time, so good).
Julie, Skyler's sister, finished up by making the best Thanksgiving dessert I've ever had: Paula Dean's banana pudding! You should be sad you didn't get any.
Interesting bit of information: A few days before Thanksgiving I asked Skyler's dad about his parents since I never met them (they both passed away). I found out that Skyler's grandpa was born in Texas, moved to Chicago, then ended up in Oklahoma, where he met Skyler's grandma in high school. Even though we didn't plan our southern brunch around family heritage, it turns out that southern heritage is in the family after all.

I thought you did a great job summing up our day. Thank you. Next year, Polish food.
Sounds and looks yummy! I want that banana pudding recipe.
Very fun idea. I wish my family would accept "breaking of traditions" and trying new things. I love the idea!
