Hello 3rd Trimester

Today baby boy turned 27 weeks, which means the start of the 3rd trimester. Time is going by fast and slow. It doesn't seem that long ago that I finished the greatest race of my life and found out I was pregnant. Fast forward five months later and I'm hiding a good-sized watermelon under my shirt. But when I think that I still have 13 weeks left, I have to admit that I'm not thrilled. Some women loved being pregnant, sorry but that's not me. I love my baby and I love being able to feel him move, but I miss doing the normal things I used to do...like pick things up off the ground or tie my shoes.

But being pregnant hasn't stopped me from doing the things I love. Last weekend we headed up to Lake Mead for some fun in the sun. Of course I wakesurfed, but was surprised at how much ab strength it involved. Excited to be able to tell this boy that his mom surfed behind a boat at six months pregnant.

The weekend was a lot of fun, I promise I have more pictures, but I've just been too busy with work stuff (and lazy) to upload this week. I promise that I will post pictures of Skyler soon. Yes, he is still around.

More boring pregnany info. Last week I had a blood test and diabetes test. And I passed both! But the diabetes test was awful. You have to drink like 20 ounces of this sugar water. I didn't expect it to be bad and actually liked the taste, but while waiting an hour to have the test done, I started to get super nauseous. I felt close to losing it, but I didn't want to have to re-do the test, so I held it together. I'm glad the results were good so I don't have to cut out my beloved sugar.

The doctor told me that I need to start counting kicks next week. So this week I have been practicing. On Tuesday night Pumpkin ran into my belly hard. She's a dog and she was excited. I didn't feel the baby move all day on Wednesday. I was freaking out. Usually he is super active and I feel him move all day long, so you can imagine my concern. Thursday morning still nothing, so I stopped by Starbucks and picked up a zebra hot chocolate (yum!). The sugar did the trick and he was moving again in no time. That was some long nap buddy.

I so remember all the baby'n not moving scares. The worst part of being pregnant if you ask me. I made Steve buy me some crazy monitor at Babies R Us that you could listen in and hear her moving and sometimes a heart beat. It's serious, so stay tuned to your baby.
