I'm a proud wife! Skyler survived 365 days of no fried foods. I felt bad for him as I chowed down on chips and salsa. I got mad at him when we went to the OC Fair and he stuck by his resolution. I felt guilty ordering the fried chicken sandwich at Bruxie. And surprisingly, I ate healthier as I came to realize how many foods are bad for you. But he did it! During the last week of the year we talked about what foods he would eat on the first day, but when the day actually came, it didn't seem as grand as I would have imagined it to be (Skyler may tell a different story though). He did eat four donuts, Chicken McNuggets, and McDonald's french fries. I'm sure the remainder of this week will consist of Chik-Fil-A sandwiches, Chinese food, tortilla chips, and hard-shelled tacos.
Me, on the other hand, I did pretty well until I got pregnant. If you remember correctly, my resolution was to cut out french fries. I did it until I was in my third month of pregnancy and was nauseous all day long. My doctor said to eat whatever sounded good and I heeded that advice. I remember eating my first french fry of the year and being sad that it wasn't as awesome as I imagined it would be. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, as I got nauseous eating everything. Although I continued to eat french fries as I pleased, I definitely cut back on the quantity.
So what does 2012 hold for us?
