Relaxing in Maui

I feel bad when Skyler spends a busy day at work and I tell him that we went swimming at my parent's house that day. Maybe my gripe is a small sunburn. It doesn't compare to the stress of Skyler's job. So our trip to Maui was just what Skyler needed. Yes, Des and I had fun too, but we've been enjoying summer for a few months now.

I took too many photos to post them all, but here are a few of my favorites:

The famous Black Rock beach. I wasn't planning on jumping, but sibling peer pressure is strong (that's me in the photo).

The pacifier was a lifesaver. Without it, Des would have eaten a lot of sand.

Desmond LOVED the ocean! And who can blame him? It was a warm 80 degrees.

Our condo was right on the beach. It was perfect.

Our vacation also turned out to be a runcation. We did a few family runs, including a trail run on a deserted golf course.

Every sunset was gorgeous, but this one was my favorite.

I don't remember seeing as many rainbows in Hawaii as I did this trip.

Desmond was a champ on the airplane and in his temporary bed. He practically slept through the entire trip.

Me and my boy.

Desmond got lots of family time.

My favorite activity of the trip was stand-up paddleboarding with Skyler. We rented a few boards and paddled several miles along the coast. We saw so many giant sea turtles. Two that were about 5-6 feet wide swam right under my board. I thought they were going to flip my board over.

Other highlights include: deep-sea fishing, watching Skyler's sister's wedding in Utah via Facetime (while sitting on the beach), and Leoda's Pie Shop.

We were sad to come back and even thought about arranging to stay longer, but sadly reality was calling us back home. Pumpkin was pretty excited to see us too. Thanks for the fun trip Salas family!
