What A Weekend!

Talk about cramming a whole lot of fun into one weekend! It was exhausting but so much fun! First, Skyler competed in the Xterra Triathlon in Temecula. It could not have been hotter! This triathlon is different than the other triathlons we have done because it is an off-road race (which is why I didn't do it). The swim was just like our other swims, although it was in a lake not the ocean.
This is the first time I have been able to take pictures of Skyler throughout his whole race. Skyler said the swim was pretty rough because everyone was kicking and pushing each other.
Everyone who rode past me on the bike looked like they had been beaten. It was so hot outside and it was a tough course. Skyler said the bike was actually his favorite part of the race.
The run started with a large uphill climb. It was so steep that even the guy who won the entire race was walking up the hill.
Skyler finished with a great time, especially great considering this was his first Xterra race. The people who do these races are so much different than the people who do normal triathlons. These people are so tough, strong, and in-shape. Skyler fit in nicely! (Note: The time on the clock is not Skyler's finish time. It is the time from the first wave start.)
We finally had our housewarming party! The main reason I wanted this party was so that we would get all of our projects done. Secondly, I wanted to show off our house (but our projects had to be done first). Skyler finished the brick about an hour before everyone got there. It turned out so nice!
I have raved about Stonefire Grill a few times before because we love it so much. Since it was our party we wanted to share the awesomeness of the tri-tip with all of our friends. We picked up a ton of food from there. I don't think anyone was disappointed.

Emma Jane and I have known each other since we were little. I am so glad that she came to see our place. Emma had a baby in October and now her little ElvisAnn is so big!
Of course the night progressed into Magio. Why wouldn't it?
My favorite Magio singer of the night was Dave. I think this picture pretty much sums him up.I made two types of cupcakes for this event. I made "ice cream cupcakes," but much to the surprise of some people, they didn't actually contain any ice cream. Still yummy anyways. Who can resist any kind of cupcake? Well, obviously I can't.
The more successful cupcakes were the cupcake bites. They are kinda hard to explain, but they are small cupcake balls mixed with frosting rolled up between melted chocolate and candy. They were so good! They took so long to make but I will definitely have to make them again. This week I am excited that I don't have to do any cleaning! I cleaned everything on Saturday. I can't wait for this coming weekend where I have nothing planned and an extra day to do it!

P.S. I was so bummed that Jim didn't ask Pam to marry him, but so happy to see how the Oceanic Six got off the island. TV is great. Too bad it's over for now.

I'm kind of sad there isn't a picture of the other cupcakes...all that work and no photo? (They tasted soooo good.)
