Puerto Rico Continued

By request, here is Puerto Rico (Day 2). We rented a car and drove east. We explored, took lots of pictures, and felt very tired. Skyler told me that he kept falling asleep at stoplights. I am glad I didn't know that at the time.

We looked for a beach to surf, but were unable to find one. I think it was just the time of year.
We stopped for lunch at this stretch of road where there were "kiosks." There were about 60 of them in a row and they all sold the same thing....fried food, which made everything pretty cheap. (There is an economic term for this, but it is slipping my mind...maybe "someone" knows it.) It looked super sketchy to me, but Skyler didn't seem to mind.
Puerto Rico has the U.S.'s only rain forest, El Yunque. We hiked around there for a few hours one day.
This is the look on Skyler's face after he threw his camera 10 feet away when he slipped on a rock and fell in the water. He saved the camera, but he was shaken up.
Bano Grande is a reservoir in El Yunque. We were hoping that it was available for swimming, but it turns out that it hasn't been used for that in about 20 years.
This is the view from the top of a tall lookout.
You can see all the way to the ocean (about 15 miles).

That night we had dinner at Morton's Steakhouse in Condado. While on vacation, we try to not eat at restaurants that we frequent at home. Surprisingly, we hadn't been to Morton's before, so we gave it a try. So good!

Coming up: Meet my family, Castillo Cristobal, start of free food 24 hours a day!
