Friday night we went to our friends, Kristen and Steve's house for dinner. We had a great time eating ice cream with homemade caramel and chocolate and laughing hysterically all night. Sometime during the night Skyler looked out the window and noticed it was snowing. He could barely contain his excitement. The next morning we took our snowboards to Snowbird, a first for both of us.

Over a foot of fresh powder and newly opened runs...Skyler was in heaven! Between all of the powder turns, he found time to save a French woman that he found hugging a tree on the edge of a steep cliff. All in a day's work for him.

At the end of the day, we took the tram up to the top. I saw something that I had never seen in my whole life....a full circle rainbow! It was beautiful!

And boy was it cold! This day was the coldest day I have ever experienced snowboarding...zero degrees! At lunch, my water froze before I even had a chance to drink it.

And before we knew it, we were driving back to California. I decided that I want to snowboard every day and have lots of money. I'm still working on how to make that possible. Until now, I will have dreams of Mammoth.
(P.S. Skyler and I can proudly say that we made it back from Utah without going to Cafe Rio. We haven't given in to the hype.)

Elise, next winter I think you should come and snowboard in AZ. Flagstaff has some good slopes. So I hear. As I can't snow-ski per my Doctor. Beside, the cold is not good for my back. That happens when you have a metal in your body!! Just looking at those photos is making my body hurt.
If you only knew how jealous I am right now! I haven't been too sad about not being able to go this season until your last 3 posts! What a fun life you guys have.
So jealous! I'm tired of the snow here, but that''s just cause I can't ski in it!
Geez, you guys have no fun at all, do you? I have always (and will continue to from here on out) live vicariously through you. Thanks for being so awesome, so that my vicarious living is awesome.
Is Skyler still alive? Have him call me. This is Dave Booth.
I'm glad you guys had so muchfun on your trip. SOrry I'm so lame. I haven't downloaded my pics since you left or I would hav e-mailed it to you.
We had such a great time with you guys. It was fun to have you at our house for a change. Let's do it again.
Glad you got powder. Nothing like cold wet snow blowing all over your face while you slide down a steep slope on a waxed board your feet are locked onto.
