Maybe I'm not spoiled, just super picky. I have only snowboarded at Mammoth Mountain and in Utah--places where snow loves to fall. I have avoided the local mountains until Saturday. Skyler and I headed up to Big Bear for the day. I figured that it would be crowded and my assumption was true, but the snow was great! We snowboarded at Bear Mountain for 4 hours. I didn't enjoy it as much because there were so many jumps, rails, and boxes that I felt I was always on the lookout for someone starting or stopping a trick.
We got lunch and then headed over to Snow Summit for another 4 hours of snowboarding. Mammoth closes at 4:00, but Snow Summit closes at 6:00 (for day passes) and we took full advantage of it. I loved Snow Summit a lot more (than Bear Mountain) because it wasn't so cramped and there weren't as many obstacles. Talk about tired, the next few days I was recovering from so much snowboarding. So worth it, but nothing will top Mammoth!
