New Discovery

(Warning: Sarcasm below!)

Happy Valentine's Day...blah, blah, blah. Skyler is the best husband...blah, blah, blah. Ok, now that I got that out of the way, I want to share my new food interest. Thai! Ok, I know everyone is saying, wow, you are so ahead of the curve! I know...that's how I roll. For my friend Carrie's birthday, a bunch of us girls went to Thai food for dinner. Since I'd never had it before, I assumed it was gross. But I definitely wasn't going to be the one to say, hey birthday girl, bad choice, let's go somewhere I like. I kept my mouth shut (as a birthday gift to her). So we went to this place in Anaheim Hills. Now knowing what to get, I just followed everyone else. I ordered Pad Thai. And guess what?...I liked it! The whole dining experience was great.

So when I told Skyler that we (the girls) went to Thai for dinner, he got a little jealous. So for our Valentine's dinner I suggested Thai. We met the always fabulous K&J (along with their two friends and a baby) for dinner at a place in the District called Thai Bamboo Bistro. I got to try a few more items and loved Thai food again (although my first night was a little better).

During dinner I remembered why I never wanted to try Thai food before. One time, in an airport, my family ordered pizza at CPK Express. One of the pizzas was a Thai pizza. And it was so gross! (I like CPK, but their airport food blows!) So there you have it...I based a whole food culture on gross pizza. (BTW, why would you ever want Thai food on a pizza?!)

So there you have it...Thai food is great! Go ahead and give it a try!

My husband is great also! He made my Valentine's Day wonderful! To celebrate the day we did a 3-1/2 hour bike ride. Lately, it has been raining on the weekends so we have to take advantage when the weather allows. Six weeks until Half Ironman!

So was the sarcasm the part where you said - "he made valentines wonderful; we went on a 3 1/2 bike ride"?

Quite the accomplishment. You're my hero first for doing that, and second for thinking it was a fun valentines day activity. I dream of being you. :)

Oh, and also, if you want an awesome Thai experience you need to go to Palms Thai in Hollywood and see "Thai Elvis." The foods ok, but the entertainment is amazing.

I always assume people get my sarcasm but maybe I'll use your strategy and warn people ahead of time:) In Berkeley there's a Thai restaurant in every corner, I miss it.
