Italy Day 3

Our trip may have started out rough, but it only gets better from here. We decided to put all bad feelings for Venice aside and spend some time seeing how beautiful it is. The Grand Canal was amazing, of course.

The streets were narrow, exactly how I imagined Italy would look.

Skyler loves this picture of me: eating gelato, but longing for something more.

St. Mark's Basilica is the first of many big churches that we would tour during our time in Italy.

This is my husband! I am so lucky! He is hot.

Near the end of the day, we crossed our fingers and checked back with our hotel to see if our luggage had been found and delivered. At our dismay, it still wasn't there! And, the airport showed that it had been delivered. What?! Suddenly a guy rushed into the hotel lobby and said that he had our luggage. Yeah! Everything was starting to turn around!

We collected our luggage and took a water taxi to Lido of Venice (an island next to Venice where we arranged to pick up our bikes). We found a campground and began our first night of camping.

The campsite was very nice, but I got a small surprise when I visited the bathroom. Squatting is not easy for girls.

We took some fun pictures near sunset. This was our first time touching the Adriatic Sea.

We did our first night of camping and were anxious to begin our biking trip. We were already one day behind because of the luggage mishap, but we didn't let that bother us. Tomorrow we would be on our bikes!

I love that you got to see Venice. Just looking at your pics makes me feel like I am there again. Sigh... Can't wait to see more of your pics so that I know what to expect when I go visit the rest of Italy!
