Our Night with Diego

I could barely sit still during work on Friday. I was so excited because I would get to see Diego at the end of my work day! Not only would I get to see him, I would be babysitting him. This was my first time babysitting him. Needless to say, I was excited!

I picked him up from my sister's house and brought him home with me. The first thing he noticed when he go to our house was the trains. Since it was the end of the work day, there were a lot of trains stopping at the station. Diego was thrilled! Every time he would hear one, he would climb up on a chair, look out the window and say, "Choo-choo!"

Friday night was also the first night of the Orange International Street Fair. We decided we would take Diego with us to the fair. Kenny and Jill met us there. They were also babysitting two of their nephews. We were quite a sight to see. Four adults who weren't parents, pushing two strollers (one of them was a double stroller), trying to control 3 little boys. It was exhausting!

Diego had a blast hanging out with Uncle Skyler. We didn't get to the fair until about 7:30 or 8:00. I assumed Diego would be cranky by then because it would be past his bedtime. He was the best little boy ever. No crying, just smiles. I guess he likes us!

We walked home after hanging out for about 1-1/2 hours. Again, I assumed Diego would be cranky and tired, but he was still happy. Of course, the second we got back to the house he was looking for the trains again. He really loves trains. (Notice him saying "Choo-choo!" and pumping his arm.)

We got him ready for bed and I thought this would be the time he would start crying. Usually kids don't like doing to bed. No sad sounds from him.

We set up the pack-n-play in our room, laid him down, and turned off the lights. Skyler pulled his guitar out and softly started playing. Diego was asleep within minutes.

Oh Diego, I love you. Come back soon to play with us again!

P.S. Yes, today is our anniversary. A few people asked if it was but they weren't sure because I didn't post anything about it on the blog. I didn't have anything new to add. Skyler is wonderful, I love him, we are happy!
