Being a Kid Again

I recently decided I wanted to go to Knott's Berry Farm. Skyler and I had never been together and it's been a long time since either of us had been. We later calculated it was 10 years for me and 15 years for him. That's crazy considering this theme park is practically in our backyard.

After spending the morning mountain biking, running, and hanging out at the DMV, we made it to the park around 2:00pm. So much has changed since the last time I visited. The thing we both really wanted to do was take the tour through the Haunted Shack. Gone. Ok, how about the Dinosaur Ride? I used to get so scared on that. Gone. Parachutes? Same story. It was like a completely different park. I had to get a map.

We wandered through Camp Snoopy and came across this Toyota Sienna. Wow, Toyota's advertising agency got some good product placement at Knott's.

So Skyler and I like different rides. I like fast roller coasters and he likes rides where you get soaking wet. He's always trying to get me to go on the rapids ride at California Adventure. We took turns picking rides, but mostly we went on rides that neither of us had been on. My favorites were Xcellerator and Silver Bullet. Skyler's favorites: Big Foot Rapids and Perilous Plunge. We had no idea how wet we would get on Perilous Plunge.

Luckily I left an extra set of clothes in the car.

I've always wanted to have dinner at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Restaurant. My family always ate at the Chicken-To-GO store, which is the same food, but in less quantities. And I really do mean less. At the restaurant, all of their meals are one price $15.95. You get your choice of an entree (Skyler chose fried chicken and I got a chicken pot pie), biscuits with Knott's jam, cherried rhubarb or salad (I think it was my first time eating rhubarb), corn, mashed potatoes, and a slice of pie. Stuffed.

We had to walk off our dinner before heading back into the park. We went on the worst roller coaster ever--Ghostrider, or as I like to call it--instant headache. Ended the night waiting an hour to go on a super fun roller coaster. Oh, to be a kid again.

Shut the front door the Haunted Shack is gone what the crap! I have been bouncing around the idea of getting a pass cause its almost the same price as a day ticket.

You went on Xcellerator, that is the only ride I have not been on. Back when they were filming the TV spot for it I went to be and extra. But when I saw it go up and not make it over and come racing back down I opted to pass. Later to find out some people got whip lash from it doing the same thing.

Side note every time I eat at the chicken dinner place I get sick.

What a fun day! I love those chicken dinners. Did you go on my favorite "Mystery Lodge"? I can't figure out how they do it.

We didn't see Mystery Lodge and I can't really remember what it is. Next time, I guess.
