2010 was a year filled with happiness, love, success, new family, and fun with friends. We feel truly blessed and hope that 2010 was a wonderful year for you too.
In January we decided that we wanted to adopt. In March we had a new addition to our family: meet our dog Pumpkin! I would have never believed that a dog could be so much fun, yet I'm excited to see her every single day! You can read all about her here.
In April Skyler quit his job. This led to a huge change in our income, but why not celebrate with a weekend getaway to Santa Barbara? Of course, the reason Skyler quit his job is because he got an even better job, complete with a raise and promotion. I'm so proud of him! Skyler's new agency is the advertising agency for Toyota. In February, we ran in our first marathon in Huntington Beach. It’s true, the “wall” people talk about really does exist. Elise claims this was her first and last marathon, but I have a feeling she will feel the need to run one again someday. You can read about the race here.
Surprisingly, this marathon led to Elise’s new business venture in fashion. Elise, along with her two friends, started a new business selling sparkle running skirts. After racing in their skirts in the marathon and getting hundreds of compliments, Team Sparkle was born. Their skirts can be seen at many major running races throughout the USA. You can read about their booth at the Long Beach Marathon expo here.

In July we took a week off of work to eat shaved ice. We spent a whole week in Kauai with Elise's family. We had a great time jumping off waterfalls, swinging on rope swings, surfing, mountain biking, and enjoying time with our family. You can read about our tropical adventures here.
If you guessed Skyler, you are correct! Skyler is the first in the Wallace family to have swam 2.4 miles, biked 112 miles, and ran 26.2 miles. He may be the only one in the family to ever do that. I had a great time cheering him on and taking photos of him all day long. He is my inspiration. You can read the full recap of the event here.
