Last weekend was the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Since Skyler works for Toyota, he scored some tickets for us. I've never been to the Grand Prix, so everything was new to me. I really didn't know what to expect except for fast vehicles.
We parked out car about a mile away and as we walked to the event we passed a record store with a limo out front. Right when we walked by the Foo Fighters got out of the limo. The Foo Fighters! We decided we would skip the Grand Prix if we could see them perform instead. Skyler talked with a bunch of employees, managers, and owners to try to get us into the tiny venue, but no luck. Oh well.
We arrived at the event and I was surprised how many people were there. It was really cool, although the temperature wasn't. It was a hot day and jeans were a bad idea. We got to watch the American Le Mans Series, aka fast cars racing around the streets of Long Beach. We sat near a sharp 90 degree turn, which was great for watching the cars take the turn and accelerate.
Skyler also got us passes for the pit area where all of the crews were camped out. I had a great time just hanging out with Skyler. He's pretty cool.
This is a bad picture of my new haircut. I chopped it off. It's almost summer, why not?
