I had to hurry and change to meet a friend for cupcakes at Billy's Bakery. Kristy wasn't exactly my friend yet, she was a friend of a friend who lives in New York. She and her girls met up with me to try out some cupcakes. After the tasting, we walked over to Chelsea Market and the Highline. I really loved Chelsea Market because (a) it was air-conditioned, and (b) it had my new favorite soup market. Hale and Hearty Soups is so awesome! I seriously wish we had these in California.
We walked up to the Highline, which is a park that used to be elevated train tracks. It was very artsy. These plants were unusual.
I continued my tourist adventures and took the train to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was pretty cool, but it just didn't compare to the museums in Italy.
I have a fascination with Egyptian things. Maybe one day it will be a safe place to visit.
As I exited the Met there was a cupcake cart setting up. Of course I had to have one. Turned out to be one of my favorite cupcakes of the whole trip. My feet were already exhausted and the day wasn't even half done. I headed back to the hotel for a midday rest.
Skyler got back from his conference and we were walking once again. We ate at this delicious place called Burger Joint. It was hidden inside a nice hotel. It was awesome despite not eating any french fries. Yes, I am still on my new year's resolution of no french fries. Dumb resolution.
The eating didn't end there. We walked around for a few minutes and then it started pouring rain. And I mean pouring. We were both in shorts and t-shirts so we got soaked. We ran from overhang to overhang. It was really fun. On the way back to the hotel we stopped by this super awesome place called Momofuku Milk Bar. It is everything right about desserts. I loved the cornflake-chocolate ship-masrshmallow cookies and the cereal milk. What's cereal milk? Oh it's the milk you find after you finish eating your cereal. Yes it's delicious.

Wow, sounds like a fun day. Exercising and eating, what a great combination in NYC.
