Last week was jam-packed with fun and not-so-fun events.
FUN
beach trip with friends
swim party at Grandma's house with Kristina
another beach trip with family and friends
Kenny's birthday party
NOT-SO-FUN
first tooth broke through (6/1/12)
6-month shots
bonk on the head
almost non-existent naps for 2 days in a row
Desmond turned 6 months old about two weeks ago. I can't believe how big my little guy is. Time is certainly flying by. Here are some fun facts about D:
- 6-month check-up: 16 lb (20%), 27" long (65%), head 71% Because he's so skinny, yet so long and top-heavy, he's pretty much a bobble-head
- Got his first tooth just a few days after his 6-month mark
- Ate his first real food (besides rice cereal): zucchini
- His second real food turned out to be a dislike (squash)
- He loves going to the dog park. He squeals while watching all the dogs play.
- He loves "playing" with Pumpkin. She licks his face and he pulls on her ears. He is fascinated by her.
- He can move around a lot. He uses his hands to turn and then rolls to get to where he wants to go. I can leave him for a few minutes and he will end up 10 feet away from where I left him.
- Lately he's been very clingy to Mom. I think that's because his teeth are coming in and he wants security.
- He's a great sleeper. Most of the time he sleeps from 9:30-6:30. Although, when he goes through a growth spurt, he wakes up once during the night to eat.
- He loves baths and warm swimming pools. He kicks and splashes so much.
- He still sleeps with his velcro swaddle wrap because he is still an active sleeper.
- He doesn't fall asleep in his car seat as quickly as he used to. I think he only falls asleep eventually because he's bored.
- He puts everything in his mouth.
- He recognizes people, sounds, and places.
- He loves to snuggle and be held. I have to keep reminding myself that one day I will miss this.
- He's not interested in TV much, but he loves to hear me sing.
