It's been a few days since I have last posted. Here is what is going on with us:
1. The day after I posted that I was thankful we don't have ants in our apartment, we started seeing ants again. I can't believe my luck! I don't want to jinx myself and say that they haven't "attacked" us yet, so I won't say it.
2. Thursday we got to hang out with Kenny and Jill. They got back from New Zealand two weeks ago, but then they left for Utah a few days later. We finally got to see their amazing pictures. Wow! is all I can say! New Zealand is beautiful, or at least it is through the camera of the Brady's!
3. Friday night I went to a diaper shower for Jessett Alleman. Jessett is pregnant with her second girl so traditionally the mother doesn't have a baby shower. But her sister threw her a diaper shower. Everyone was told not to bring a gift, but to bring diapers and wipes. She probably got over 1000 diapers! It was so nice to see her. Her family moved to Las Vegas at the beginning of the summer so we haven't been able to see them as much as we would like to. So Friday was the last time I will see her before she has her baby. She is due in the middle of January. She is debating between naming her baby Chloe or Ella Mae (my preference is Ella Mae).
4. Saturday Skyler and I spent a good portion of the day furniture shopping. Boy, the expenses are adding up! But it will be so nice to move into a new house with new furniture. Speaking of which, we also stopped by our place. The flooring (tile and carpet) is finished. It looks so nice! Less than 4 weeks away!
5. Saturday night we went to a white elephant Christmas party. Our gift was a Colonel Sander's bobblehead doll. We went home with a lovely piece of lingerie. Actually it didn't make it home...we dropped it in the trash, which I am sure many of the people did with their gifts. It was a fun party. They also had an ornament-making contest. You had to have your picture taken on a Polaroid camera and then make an ornament out of it. We really enjoyed seeing people we hadn't seen in a while.
6. Biggest story of the week: WE HAVE A MOUSE IN OUR HOUSE! Both of us have heard a scratching noise over the past couple of days. I can't believe I didn't pick up on it sooner. I just thought it was a grocery bag...moving by itself? I don't know. Anyways, it was coming from underneath our refrigerator. So Skyler moved the fridge to look. We couldn't see anything, but then I saw a flash of gray out of the corner of my eye. I can't be certain it was a mouse, it could have been a shadow that moved (because of Skyler shining the flashlight around the room), but we are certain there is a mouse somewhere because we found droppings behind the fridge. Oh goodie. So Skyler got some of those old-fashioned mouse traps from Home Depot. We set them last night and then left the house. One of Skyler's friends got into town last night so we went to visit her, in hopes that by the time we got home the mouse would be dead.
Well, we got home and all four of the traps were still empty. So you can imagine that neither one of us slept at all last night. I was half-dreaming about the game Mouse Trap. I was scared of the mouse climbing all over me, but I don't know if Skyler was awake for the same reason. This morning I woke up and all of the traps are still ready to snap. Bummer. Maybe something happened while we were both at work. I am crossing my fingers.
P.S. I will post pictures from this weekend when I get them uploaded. I try to upload quick so I can post in sync with pictures, but that would be in a perfect world.

Just think, Elise, if you had actually become a cat trainer, you wouldn't be dealing with the mouse problem. It really would have been the better career move...never too late to change!
