Two More Days!
Skyler and I have our first triathlon of the year this weekend! We are leaving tonight and will be heading to Lake Mead for some extra swim practice. Friday we will finish our trip to St. George, Utah where our triathlon will be. I am pretty confident that we will both beat our times from last year. My only concern is my running. I currently have shin splints and have not ran for about three weeks. I have been icing my legs for the past week or so and I can see a ton of improvement. My concern is not that I will be unable to run, but it is that I won't get my best running time. We will see. The weather should be perfect (80 degrees), we are both feeling healthy, and we have both done a lot of training. The St. George Triathlon is the biggest triathlon that we have done. There are about 1200 racers. The toughest parts of the race are 1) the steep hill on the bike portion that ascends 1,000 feet over a mile and 2) the run, which is on red sand as opposed to flat road. I will post results and pictures in a few days!
