Maiden Voyage of Another New Bike

You would think that we were obsessed with bikes by the number of them that we own. We just love them! Over the weekend I sold my old road bike since I have recently upgraded to a new triathlon bike. That brought me down to only two bikes...I needed to buy another one to keep my collection going.

Recently I found an interest in mountain biking. I was somewhat apprehensive at first, but now I love it! Yesterday I purchased my first mountain bike. It is a Trek Fuel EX 5.5. It even has a little pink on it, which is a must! After owning it for less than an hour, I was out on the trails for its maiden voyage.

Wednesday nights I have started riding with a women's mountain bike group. Rich is our leader. He finds the trails and then helps us beginners/intermediates with techniques and pointers. Last night I showed up with my new bike and felt awesome!
We rode through a couple of deep streams. Rich and my friend Carrie were taking the pictures.
We rode in Ladera Ranch, off of Crown Valley and Antonio. We rode through streams, jungles, and on rollings hills. It was a lot of fun! My bike got so muddy!
I initially wanted to post a picture of me with my brand-new clean bike. But then I thought, that's not how my bike will normally look. So this is me at the end of my two-hour ride. My bike is caked in mud. It needs a bath!

SIDE NOTE: We are leaving for Puerto Rico tonight where we will spend three days before we leave for our seven-day Caribbean cruise. I don't know if I will have much internet access so I may not post until we get back.

When will the awesome-ness stop? You guys ooze athleticism.

I have a Trek too. I guess that makes us Trekkies. Is that a bad thing?

Hope you have/had fun on your cruise. Steve's parents are taking your exact same trip next Feb.
