We set-up camp at a beach along the boardwalk. There was a large inflatable trampoline and slide. Cameron had the most fun doing flips off the sides.
St. Thomas was our farewell stop on our cruise. It is part of the United States so we had to pass through customs before we could get off the boat. The most interesting part of the island was that they drove on the left side of the road (not unusual for a lot of the Caribbean) and the steering wheel is on the left side of the car. Weird! We asked a local about it and she said she didn't know why it was that way because they have never been under British rule.
We spent the day at Magens Bay, supposedly one of the top ten beaches in the world. It was a very beautiful beach, especially since it was relatively free of peddlers. We were able to get the whole family together for a picture.

Luckily I was almost out of the water when Skyler spotted this! I do not like snakes, especially ones that can swim in the water. There is nowhere to hide from them!
My family took a taxi to the beach, but Skyler and I decided to take a different route. We rented a scooter. I was a little nervous because of the left-side driving thing, but Skyler (of course) turned out to be a great scooter driver.
We took the "long" route to Magens Bay. The island is only 14 miles wide, so it only took us a little longer to get there. We explored a few other beaches on the way.
We named this beach "iguana beach." There were iguanas everywhere and they were huge. We must have seen 20 large iguanas sitting on this patch of grass. It was actually kinda scary because they looked so much like small dinosaurs!
(Yes Skyler has a moustache and goatee thing. Yes I didn't like it. Yes it went away!)
After we got back on the ship, we did a little playing before dinner. My dad broke a sweat by playing some basketball. That was one of the pluses of Royal Caribbean...they have full-court basketball.
My dad can still show-up teenagers in basketball. He won the gold medal in basketball on the ship, along with my brother and possibly Daniel (I can't remember if he played).
Skyler and I did a little rock climbing, yes, on the ship. Each time we climbed, we tried a harder route. Skyler was climbing so fast that I barely had time to take his picture!
I didn't look down when I got to the top because I knew I would get nervous.
The next day we got off in Puerto Rico and flew home. Skyler and I had a blast exploring the Caribbean with my family. We are so thankful that we were able to be with them. Thank you, everyone, for making our trip wonderful!

i love how you can see yourself taking a pic in the rear view mirror on the bike. Very artistic! Any news on any apts in the area? Maui is wonderfully warm and great. Diego has a diaper rash that I feel real bad about but otherwise he's enjoying it~
