Even when it seemed like fate didn't want us to, Jill and I went finally learned to paddleboard! First, the weather forecast was cold, next my GPS sent us to the wrong address
twice, then the place we had planned to rent from was closed, and when we found another place they wouldn't rent to us because they said it was too windy. It seemed that we were doomed to kayaking, but then fortune found us! The kayak place also had paddleboards. We switched our kayaks to paddleboards and we were on our way.
If only we had a waterproof camera you would be able to see how awesome we were on our paddleboards! Jill was so fast. She didn't share her secret with me until the end. I guess it's all in the knees. Who knew she was a closet canoer (and who knew that canoer wouldn't pass my spellchecker...is it a real word?)!
We paddled around Huntington Harbor and looked at all of the expensive houses. There were a couple of sketchy moments where I thought we might fall, but we made it the entire time without touching water.
We had such a great time! We can't wait to return so we can show our husbands how to paddleboard. It's not often that I know how to do something that Skyler doesn't. But I guess that's only because he hasn't tried it yet.
I'm torn between wishing to keep the warm weather so I can try paddleboarding again or dreaming of an early winter.

YES! I am so glad that you finally got out there to try this! I did it earlier this summer and loved it. I was worried that you weren't gonna find a place, but you did. Hooray!
I'm not trying to knock paddleboarding but this looks really boaring. I think I would much rather be in a kayaking. I'm glad you had fun though

i looove paddleboarding! it's so fun and a fabulous workout...i cant wait for summer again to do it!
Little does Mike know...every kayaker we passed was so much more interested in watching us than rowing their little boats.
