Mission: Eat all fried food in sight!

The Players: Nicole (Jill's friend from high school), Jill, Kenny,

Skyler and Elise

I made him do this. I love photo cutouts!

Just like last year, we had to make a plan for the night. We wrote down all of the foods we wanted to eat and crossed off each one throughout the night. We started off with the heavy stuff (see top photo): fried avocados, fried mushrooms, fried artichoke hearts, and apple fries. Next, we toned it down and went with BBQ corn (my favorite!).

I found my cupcakes! Unfortunately, they weren't the deep-fried cupcakes from last year. Well, it's probably better that I didn't eat a deep-fried cupcake.

The girls shared a turkey leg.

Skyler got a bratwurst. This fulfilled the tubular meat category.

Kenny opted for a corn dog. I was kinda wanting to try cream cheese on a stick, but couldn't go through with it.

To burn off all of the calories we consumed, we took a walk through the Carnival of Products, as well as the Festival of Products.

We sat everytime we came to a product that required sitting.

As if we weren't sitting, we were using the "vibrating exercise machines" to give us free massages.

Kenny and Skyler just can't help looking like a couple. We caught them looking at bedding together.

One of the most popular fried foods for our group was the fried cheese curd.

Last, and certainly the most disappointing, were the buffalo chips. Fried potato wedges covered in buffalo sauce and blue cheese crumbles. Great concept, poorly executed (the potatoes were not cooked).

Another great year at the fair. My one regret is not trying a fried 'smore. There's always next year.

Mmmm...fried food and lots of sitting (and walking in circles). Nothing quite like the fair.

I loved this post. LOVED it.

So you didn't try the chocolate coevered bacon?! :) I think that was the nastiest thing I saw there!

I wanted to try the chocolate covered bacon, but never got around to it. I bet you'd be surprised at how good it probably is. Sweet and salty is the new thing.
