We drove as far northwest as possible to a beach called Tunnels. Supposedly it hosts the best snorkeling on the island. We also heard that this beach was pretty flat, so we didn't rent any surfboards. Poor Skyler. We watched the best waves of the trip from the sand.
There wasn't much to do on this beach besides snorkel and lay out. That's always enjoyable. It was nice to be cooled off by a sporadic rain cloud every hour or so.
Luckily we found a shave ice truck nearby and we treated ourselves to the first (of two) shave ices for the day. Thank you boys for posing.
On the way back, we stopped for shave ice again (well, not everyone got to enjoy the first one). I had my first shave ice with condensed milk on top. I loved it!
That night Skyler and I dined at a fancy smancy restaurant near our condo called Josselin's Tapas Bar & Grill. Great food, somewhat high(er) prices, but that's something you have to do on every trip, right? We enjoyed a nice evening walk back to the condo. It's hard to believe that Kauai ever has bad weather.
