Sore Feet in NYC

Our first whole day together can be summed up in two words: tired feet. I don't think I've ever done so much walking. Walking is hard. We both decided that walking for 6 hours was a lot harder than doing a half-Ironman.

We started the day by heading uptown for breakfast. Anyone who watched TV in the 90s should know this restaurant. Although, the inside wasn't the same as the TV show portrayed. Fastest service I've ever seen though.

Next we headed all the way downtown to Ground Zero. This was on my must see list, but there really wasn't anything to see. There was so much construction going on so you couldn't actually see the spot. The memorial will be dedicated this September to mark the 10 year anniversary. That's about all we found out. It was humbling though to be here. It really happened.

We walked across the street to St. Paul's Church. We found out that this is the church that George Washington prayed at after he was inaugurated president of the United States.

This bell was built sometime recently. It is rang once a year on 9/11.

The famous bull. I decided I looked fat so Skyler had to take this picture a million times.

Wall Street. I'm sure it's busier inside, but us commoners aren't allowed in.

Took the subway to Brooklyn to visit the world's largest online bike shop. Couldn't believe how many bikes they had in their store.

Next was Chelsea Piers. We rested there for a while.

Back to Little Italy for dinner. Side note: the sauce on my pasta tasted exactly like the sauce I ate in Ferrera, Italy. I've never tasted it anywhere else.

Bedtime.
