We stopped by our place last week to do a walk-through. They had just finished installing our cabinets. Skyler stopped by yesterday and they had installed the countertops and appliances and were installing the tile. Our move-in date of December 28 hasn't changed. I was so excited to pay our last rent check yesterday.
This morning I ran in the Turkey Trot in Long Beach. This was my first 10K race. I was worried that it would be too cold, but the weather was perfect.

I had set a goal to finish the race in 49:36 minutes (that is an 8:00 mile pace) and I beat by goal by finishing in 49:31 minutes. Actually, I would have finished about 40 seconds sooner but during the second mile of the race I had to go to the bathroom so bad. Luckily there were restrooms right along the side of the race path. It cost me 40 seconds but it was worth it to not have to worry about it for the rest of the race. Skyler was pretty upset that I had to do that. He tried to get me to go right before the race, but there were about 30 women in line. I should have listened to him. He is usually right!
During the race Skyler made good use of his time by taking some amazing pictures. Here are a few of my favorite.

Skyler informed me that this is a world-famous skateboarding spot. But, if you will notice, there are knobs all over the ledges, so it doesn't get skated anymore.

Skyler wanted me to do a pull-up on the pier but it was hard enough just to hold on. I feel like I ran a really good race. I think I will be able to do the half-marathon in February that I was thinking about doing. Skyler said he will probably be doing that race with me.
This afternoon we will be going over to my family's house in Yorba Linda for Thankgiving. Looking forward to treating myself to good food. Since it is Thanksgiving I want to say a few things that I am thankful for:
My Family
Skyler
Healthy body
Good jobs
No more ants in our apartment
Opportunity to buy new house
Life in a free country
