How could anyone not like Thanksgiving? You get a four-day weekend for the holiday. Skyler even gets a half-day today.
Monday was my actually birthday day and the fun continued through that day also. My dad took me out to lunch. That is always fun. That night I picked the place to go to dinner and I picked Joaquin's in Yorba Linda. My love for salty foods gets the best of me. I love their chips and salsa! Our friends Kenny and Jill came to dinner with us. They just got back from their trip to New Zealand. We got to hear bits and pieces about their trip but I am excited to see all of the pictures.
After dinner we went back to our apartment and had a dessert fest. The best part was the Tim Tams that Jill brought me from New Zealand. They are an amazing biscuit/cookie snack that must be eaten with milk. They are only available on the other side of the world so I was excited to get a whole package to myself. Anyways, we had Tim Tams, warm chocolate chip cookies, leftover birthday cake, and hot chocolate. If I am going to eat a dessert then I might as well go all out. I was so stuffed by the end of the night!
Tomorrow I am going to be racing in a 10K in the Long Beach Turkey Trot. I am pretty excited because I have never ran in a race this long. The triathlons we do are longer, of course, but this 10K is only running. The running portion of the sprint triathlons is only a 5K. I am training to do a half-marathon in February in Huntington Beach. Skyler will be spectating only tomorrow. After the race, we are going over to my family's house in Yorba Linda for Thanksgiving dinner. My sister Robin and her husband Daniel are flying in today to spend Thanksgiving here. They currently live in Provo, Utah where Daniel is finishing law school at BYU. Should be a fun holiday!
