Dodger Game
Friday night Skyler got tickets to go to a Dodgers game. I grew up going to Dodgers games with my dad. I remember a lot of little details about those fun times with my dad. I remember having to take a nap during the day so I wouldn't be tired that night. I remember getting to bring a package of Skittles or some other kind of my favorite candy. I remember parking really far away so we wouldn't have to pay for parking and wouldn't have to wait so long to get out of the stadium parking lot. I remember my dad brining a little radio so he could listen to the commentary while watching the game. Those are great memories for me! After the strike of 1994 we just didn't get around to going anymore. I don't know if it was because my dad was mad at baseball or because we just were busier, but when Skyler told me that he got tickets I was so excited!
It was free hat night so we sported those. I will start off by saying the worst part of the night was that it was 100 degrees in the stadium! And if you dared venture near the concession stands, it was about 10 or 15 degrees hotter up there! I am pretty sure it was the hottest day of the year. But the heat didn't mess up our fun. We invited Skyler's brother Dave and his wife Kristine to come with us. They brought our cute little nephew Dain (short for Dainger!).
Dain is the sweetest little boy. He is a lot of fun because he is so curious about everything. He was pretty good the whole time, which is surprising considering the game didn't start until 7:40 and we left around 11:00 (way past his bedtime).
Our seats were really good. We were on field level, Row R, right along the third baseline. The tickets would have cost $120 each if we had bought them that day. Of course I found the concession stand selling cupcakes (whew, they were $9.75 for two!). Not bad, but nothing amazing! We had a great time just hanging out with our family and stuffing our faces with nachos, Dodger dogs, hot wings, ice cream, and cupcakes (but isn't that most of the reason you go to sporting events anyways?).
