Fun-filled Week

This week has been pretty great. Let me tell you why:
  • Monday night I got to play softball. Skyler plays on his team for work and I am the unofficial stats/score keeper. Occasionally, if they are short a player, I get asked to play. I have really enjoyed trying to see if I can resurrect my softball skills. You see, I played for one season in third grade with the Red Hots. I have memories of dreading each game. My neighbor played on a different team and was the first baseman. She always tagged me out. If you don't know me on the competitive level, you are lucky, because I am fairly aggressive and passionate about winning. I have calmed my competitive gene a lot in the past six months and I am more tolerable now. But despite only making it one base one time, I have really enjoyed playing. (Side note: I have had plenty of good hits, but not good enough to beat the ball to first.)
  • Tuesday night we got a double dose of friends. First, we met Bryce and Sarah at Disneyland. We hadn't hung out with them for a while, so it was nice to see them. Sarah is about nine weeks pregnant and looks like she could be further along than she "claims" :) This may sound kinda mean, but it is actually a compliment. Most pregnant women seem to look like they have been eating too much dessert and are packing on the pounds, but Sarah looks pregnant. She is big in all the right places. She is so cute pregnant...I only hope I can look as great as she does.
  • After Disneyland, we headed over to Yorba Linda Bowl. You would think that I had spent many nights bowling here since I grew up in Yorba Linda, but my family was a little more high-class than that. When Yorba Linda Bowl was still using paper and pencils to score, my family was keeping track of their scores on a computer at Concourse Bowling in Anaheim. We bowled with Dave, Tanya, and Mike Viscusi. I know this is ridiculous, but my favorite parts of the evening were the (partial) cupcakes that Dave and Tanya brought us and the cat I found in front of Mike's house. This cat looked exactly like my cat Summer that died recently. This cat was so nice and let me pet her for a long time. It brought tears to my eyes. I miss you Summer.
  • SYTYCD. Its easier than writing So You Think You Can Dance. I love this show! It's funny because the first time I watched this show (two years ago), I did it out of boredom. Now I love it! I know Skyler might not admit it, but he enjoys it just as much as me. And even more surprisingly, Skyler found out that a lot of his co-workers (who are men) watch this show too! My favorites are Kherington, Katee (our hometown hero...she's from Orange), and Twitch. Skyler likes Kherington and Chelsie Hightower. Thank goodness there is something good to watch during the summer!
