I Heart Cupcakes!

I don't know when my obsession with cupcakes began, but it probably has to do with all of the cupcake bakeries that have popped up around Orange County. I remember the first time I tried a Red Velvet cupcake. It was my first time (of many) to Sprinkles Cupcakes in Newport Beach. I had been hearing great things about Sprinkles, so I made Skyler take me there. I was like a little kid again. There is a glass display with all of the cupcakes behind it, my fingers were pressed up on the glass, drool coming out of my mouth. They all looked so tasty! Skyler suggested I get the Red Velvet. But I was a Red Velvet virgin, I had never even heard that name before. I was so innocent, not knowing what kind of repercussions that cupcake would have on my life. Two years later I have become somewhat of a cupcake expert.
I have started my own blog dedicated to cupcakes. Check it out here. I review the expanding cupcake bakery population around Orange County, as well as other places that I visit. I document my cupcake experiments in the kitchen. I post my stories and my reader's stories about cupcakes. I also post other cupcake news or tidbits.
Cupcakes have been in the news a lot lately, as they are the hottest new trend. Today in the OC Register they featured a whole section called The OC Cupcake Challenge. The difference between this trend and other trends is that I have liked cupcakes my whole life and I am 100% sure I will continue to like them for the rest of my life. It's no trend for me!
So enjoy my new blog. I really have enjoyed putting it together. It gives me an excuse to visit cupcake bakeries as often as my husband will allow. My favorite thing to do is to research where I can buy cupcakes in a place that we are going to visit. Which reminds me....I hope they make good cupcakes in Puerto Rico!
