Italian Christmas Eve

Last Christmas Eve at the Salas house we had a sushi dinner. It was so nice to eat something different than the usual meat-potato-green bean dinner. This year we decided that we wanted to do something different again. We settled on a make-your-own pizza theme.

Skyler was in charge of the recipes and grocery shopping. We ended up with five types of pizza:
  • Chicken Pesto
  • BBQ Chicken
  • Mexican
  • Marghareta
  • Buffalo Chicken (my favorite!)
Dessert is never left out of my family's menu. Skyler and my mom secretly came up with the idea to make chocolate chip calzones. If you have ever gotten me on the topic of desserts, I have definitely mentioned chocolate chip calzones. You can find them at Claim Jumper and they are awesome!

A chocolate chip calzone is marshmallows, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and white chocolate chips inside of pizza dough. It is baked so everything melts inside. You can top it with whipped cream, ice cream, or chocolate syrup. I am sure you can imagine how excited I was to see this!

It may look like I only took pictures of food, but we did take some pictures of the whole family together that night. (I stole this picture from Robin's blog.)

I also managed to get a picture with Kristina, who stopped by to hang out. It was great to see her, as she has been living in Utah for a long time.

More to come: Christmas Day and Mammoth!

Looks like you guys had a good time. I hope you're tearing it up on the slopes today. Try not to miss us too mush and I'll try not to be jealous of the fact that you're riding today. Deal?

Of course I meant try not to miss us too MUCH - not "mush." I don't even know what that would mean...
