The ride was a rough one. Some of the snow on the road had melted, making tons of mud. We initially tried to ride through it, but got stuck pretty quickly. The mud kept piling up between the fork and tire of our bikes. Then we would have to stop to wipe all of the mud away. Even if we thought we had got most of it off, bits of mud would come flying at our faces as we started to ride again. Eventually we learned to carry our bikes over the mud.

I was so excited to see my first bit of snow in Orange County.

As we got closer to the top, the roads started to get more snowy and icy. It also got a lot colder.

Once we got to the top, we had a blast doing the fun stuff you do in the snow. We had a snowball fight....

Skyler made his first Orange County snow angel...

and we took lots of pictures!

But what a view! Even if there wasn't any snow, the view makes it worth it! You can see all of Orange County, along with Riverside County (too bad the smog was covering the beautiful mountains). Dave said he could even see his hometown of Banning.

It was an awesome ride! Even though it took way longer than expected, we had a great time and got to play in the snow. Ours bike also got a major bath the next day!
