Peanut Madness

I know that I have been slacking on the blogging lately. Maybe it's because I don't have anything exciting to write about. Maybe I am bummed that we have a private blog now. Maybe I am so busy that I haven't had the time to blog (not true). Whatever the case is, I decided that I want to blog about peanut butter.

I have a love/hate relationship with peanut butter. I love it, but I hate it's nutrition facts. How can something have so much fat in it? My great-grandmother lived to be 96 (I think) and she used to eat a spoonful of peanut butter every day. That's my excuse for letting myself indulge in it every once in a while.

So the reason I am sad lately is because of this lame peanut scare. I decided that I wasn't going to let it affect my eating habits. After all, the jar of peanut butter I have at home is about three months old...nothing to worry about. Plus, I shop at Fresh & Easy and they had signs posted in their store saying that their products were not affected by the recall.

So I was doing my grocery shopping on Monday night (like I always do) and I notice that the peanut butter granola bars that I normally buy were replaced by a piece of paper informing me of potential contamination of the granola bars. Argh! That's ok, I will buy strawberry granola bars instead.

I get home and notice that I still have an almost-full box of peanut butter granola bars. Success!...until I realize that these granola bars could be contaminated too. Lame....into the trash they go. At least I still have my jar of peanut butter. Uh oh! The jar is pretty much empty. I was only able to scoop one spoonful out. And I can't buy more because of the peanut recall!

When will the madness end?!

P.S. I promise I will do something exciting to blog about this week.
