After the OC Duathlon, we booked it out to downtown LA to watch Stage 7 of the Amgen Tour of California. There hasn't been a cycling race in LA since the 1984 Olympics, so this was a pretty big deal.
Stage 7 was a 20 mile time trial, which means that each rider starts at a different time, with the current leader going last. They space out the riders by one or two minutes.

We secured a spot near the finish line, which was also in front of the Staples Center. We got to see each rider three times, since the course was a loop.
Although Michael "Mick" Rogers didn't win this stage of the Tour, he captured the win of the Amgen Tour of California the next day.
Skyler's good friend Brandon joined us for the day of spectating. Brandon is new to triathlon, but plans on starting with a bang. He's signed up to do Ironman Arizona with Skyler in November.
