Right before the race started I was excited to see some personal spectators. My mom, sister, nephew, and niece came to watch me race. I was thrilled to have them there!
Skyler was not able to make it in time to race, so he hurried home to pick up Pumpkin and made it with enough time to cheer me on for most of the race. The first time I saw him that night, I shouted "Yeah Pumpkin." Later, he told me that it was funny that I only acknowledged Pumpkin as I biked past. Of course I was just as happy to see him, but this was Pumpkin's first time seeing her mama race.
My friend Kelly was able to race this week also. I absolutely LOVE having friends that share a love of swimming, biking, and running with me.

So the race began and I set my sights on the girl I needed to beat to keep the jersey. We rode next to each other almost the entire race. On the last 1/2 loop, I took advantage of my climbing skills, pulled ahead, and was all smiles coming down the finish chute. I did it!
Although I didn't get first place this week (I got second), I'm keeping the leader's jersey for another week. Hopefully I can repeat tonight!

Yay! Way to keep the jersey! I fully expect you to keep it until the end.
Can I come watch?
You kept it!!! Way to go!
Of course you can come watch. It's a short race and you get to see the riders 5-7 times, depending on the category they are in.
BTW, my mom is right...I kept the jersey again. Pics coming soon.
I love how in the pick of you and Robin both of her kids have the look of what the crap is going on.
