Tuesday night means bike race night! The girls of Team Poseidon (the same girls of Team Sparkle) dominated the night.

First up, Carrie and her daughter raced in the kids race. This was not the first race for Carrie's daughter. She is practically a veteran, having raced in several other kids races over the past few years. But this was her first mountain-bike-only race. She is one tough cookie, as she was the only girl racing.

Next up, the big kids (adults) race. Although I wasn't sore from our Boise 70.3 race on Saturday (more to come about that), the second I started pedaling I realized that my legs were tired. I struggled to keep up with the pack and fell behind at the beginning. I wasn't too worried because I'm a late starter, meaning it takes me a while to get going, but when I do I am strong for a long time.
Just over halfway through the race I found my racing legs and was able to push my tired 70.3 legs to a first place finish. That also means that I'm keeping the leader's jersey for another week.
Carrie's daughter and I collected our awards at the end of the night. I hope that my future kids will be as excited about racing as our friend's kids are. Skyler and I have a lot of athletic genes in our family, so I think luck is on our side.

Next up: The Boise story.
