Christmas Eve 2010

Christmas Eve is always spent at my parent's house. We strayed from doing a traditional Christmas dinner about three years ago and have loved it. In 2007 Skyler was our personal sushi chef, 2008 we had an Italian Christmas, and last year we experienced Jewish food for the first time. Skyler loves coming up with new ideas for food each year. But this past Christmas he was having a hard time deciding what our theme should be. Christmas was getting closer and closer and still nothing stuck out to him. We finally figured out why: this was our first Christmas without my grandpa. Skyler loved making new foods because my grandpa got so excited to try them. My grandpa had traveled all around the world and said Skyler was one of the best chefs he's ever met. My grandpa passed away in April. Skyler just didn't have the same incentive as usual. Luckily, my mom and sister stepped in and took charge. They made a great Asian-themed dinner. And so the tradition continues...

The rest of the night consisted of hot tubbing, a Christmas puppet show, and eating lots of goodies. I really love this day because everyone in my family is together. It won't always be this way, but I'll enjoy it while it's here.

Diego. His face pretty much sums up his personality. Daniel, Robin, and Rose were in attendance too, but they didn't pose for any pictures.

So true about Grandpa! He loved trying new foods. Tell Skyler to start thinking for this year.
