Hey Lil Pump

Yesterday marked exactly one year that we got Pumpkin. I remember that day exactly. It was my mom's birthday (Happy birthday yesterday Mom!). I made zesty chicken in the crock pot for dinner. We were to meet the rep from Southern California Vizsla Rescue in the Chuck E. Cheese parking lot in Diamond Bar. She picked up the dog from the original owner and was transporting Pumpkin to us so that neither of us had any contact with the other. We missed the off-ramp from the freeway and I got mad at Skyler. We were both nervous.

The rep drove up, opened the door, and out jumped Pumpkin. She was beautiful! She immediately started shaking. What a day for her! She had been abandoned in a house for the past few days, then she got in the car with a stranger, and met us, two more strangers. We drove home and she just shook the whole way home. She was so scared. Everything scared her: cars, people, trains, any sounds.

I've never wanted a dog. But I loved her right away. See my conversation the following day:

me: i miss her
Skyler: haha
she misses you
she is probably crying for you right now
me: i hope not too much.
my day is going by slow

She has our hearts and we're so happy she's in our lives. Recently we met up with Tanya and Verona for a little hike in Laguna. The dogs had a blast!

Our kids have been asking for playdates with Pumpkin. She really is a special dog.
