This was my third year racing the Chapman 5k. Funny thing is that Skyler was out of town for work last year and at the last minute had to go on a business trip again this year. I recruited my family to run with me.
Since I am 33 weeks pregnant, I obviously didn't plan on breaking any records. But of course I still wanted to run. My goal was to run the whole way.
This was my mom's first 5k and we ran the race together. I don't think she's ever ran 3.1 miles before, so this was a big deal. It was so much fun to run and chat with her the whole time. We crossed the finish line together, or so I thought! My mom's time was 3 seconds faster than mine.

Holly, aka speed demon, finished the race faster than last year (by 21 seconds) AND she placed 3rd in her age group. She also placed 3rd last year, but this year she was in a harder age group with the high school age girls. That's quite an accomplishment!

Congrats Holly! Watch out though because I'm going to beat you next year!

I felt great after I finished and enjoyed eating lots of food at the finish line. The best part was hearing about all of my friends PRs. Although this makes me a little worried because not only will I have to work back to my old race pace after the baby, but now I have to get faster because my friends are faster. A good goal I guess.

Team Sparkle had quite the turnout at the Chapman 5k. We all had fun and looked great doing it! I love the boxer wearing the skirt. Next year Pumpkin's all over that!

My one regret for the day was not getting a photo of my dad. He was there and he ran faster than last year too. Congrats Dad! Maybe if you were wearing a skirt you would have been in a picture too.

How fun! Next year I will have to race too. Thats me being cheap...haha. But it really looked like fun. Maybe in 2 years the whole fam can race. That way I could beat someone...I think I got Eric in the bag. haha Hope he's reading this.
It was a fun race! Elise this may be the one and only time I ever beat you.
