Happy Birthday to me

Rewind to November 19:

I know my birthday should have been an Elise day, but when you're 9 months pregnant, there's not too many fun things you can do. Saturday just happened to be a Vizsla meet-up day at Fiesta Island in San Diego. Pumpkin is a Vizsla dog (in case you were wondering what a Vizsla was). We have been trying to make it out to one of the meet-ups for a few months and this was the perfect opportunity.

I didn't think being so pregnant would affect our day-trip, but I was wrong. San Diego is a far drive when you need to use the restroom every 45 minutes. Luckily we only had to stop two times on the way there.

Pumpkin had such a great time playing with her "family." Some people don't believe that dogs have emotions, but I could see a huge smile on her face all day long.

We walked around Fiesta Island for a while longer after. I had a feeling this would be the last time Pumpkin was the center of our lives. Don't get me wrong, we still love Pumpkin a ton, but priorities are a bit different now.

Before we went home, we headed to downtown San Diego for some Mexican food. During the last month or so of being pregnant I was so thirsty all the time. I would wake up multiple times every night just to drink water. It was weird. Anyways, we ate lunch at this place and I ordered an XL Bang drink. Big mistake for someone who has to use the restroom every few minutes. I counted and I ended up using 8 public restrooms that day. So gross.

My 30th birthday was nothing like I ever imagined it to be, but I was happy to be pregnant. A week later little Desmond entered our lives. Great way to start off being 30!
