Birthday Weekend

So my birthday isn't officially until tomorrow but I celebrated most of it this weekend. Friday night Skyler surprised me and took me out to dinner at the Macaroni Grill. I really like that restaurant. Skyler took me there on Valentine's Day when we first starting dating almost four years ago. Anyways, dinner was great. After dinner we walked around the Block a little bit. The tough part about going out on a Friday night is that we woke up early for work and we spent the whole day working, so we were pretty tired. We went home and Skyler surprised me with an early birthday present. He got me these Ugg mocassin slippers. I was really surprised because Skyler has this thing about Ugg boots...he hates them, but I guess the slippers are ok. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I wish I could wear them all the time.

Saturday we drove to LA to celebrate Erin Sorenson's birthday. She had a collage party. It was fun to see everyone being so creative. It has been a while since I have been able to use the left side of my brain. You can't be too creative with numbers...you get in trouble for that. It was fun getting together with some friends we haven't seen in a while. Someone at the party brought these cupcakes from a bakery called Dainty's (I might have totally remembered it wrong) and he claimed they are better than Sprinkles. The cupcakes were ok, but they were no Sprinkles.
Happy Birthday Erin! We love you!

Today we went over to my parent's house in Yorba Linda to celebrate my birthday. I got to pick the dinner and dessert. I picked one of my childhood favorites called One Pot Dinner. For my dessert I picked a plain yellow cake with chocolate frosting. It was wonderful. Actually my mom made my party a cupcake themed party.
Below is a picture of me and my Grandpa Salas. This is where I get my Mexican blood from. My grandpa is a world traveler. He is getting ready for a trip to Costa Rica (I wonder who convinced him to go there) and he will be going to Turkey next May.
Growing up everyone said I looked like my dad. I believe it is true, but as I am getting older I am see myself looking more like my mom. I think I am a good mix between both.
In summary, I have had a wonderful birthday even though my birthday isn't even here yet. I am almost one year closer to 30 and it is scary. 26 is downhill to 30 and that seems old to me. I don't feel 26 so I guess that is a good thing. I probably only feel about 20! Birthdays are awesome!

Happy Birthday to you! I know we probably aren't that old, but sometimes I feel like I'm 80! That can't be good :) I'm glad you had a fun weekend and I've heard those slippers are amazing. Have a good day!
