The Big 3-0

(Disclaimer: photo from Halloween 2008)

Why is 30 such a scary number? Does it symbolize getting old? In the triathlon world, athletes in their 30s are the fastest ones. So maybe turning 30 isn't so bad.

To us, turning 30 means embarking on a new adventure in life--having a baby. I'm pretty excited about that. Yesterday we got to watch the little guy wiggle around as I had an ultrasound. He's going to keep us busy.

Skyler turns 30 today and I realize that I love him more and more every day. Getting older doesn't symbolize getting fat or slowing down. Getting older is a reminder of how many fun adventures we've had. Whether we're ziplining in Costa Rica, getting lost in an unknown city for hours in Italy, running through the mountains of Alaska, snowboarding through powder, or biking to the highest point in Orange County, there's no one I'd rather be with. I love you Skyler. Happy Birthday!

That's sweet! My husband just turned 30 in March. Even though I'm only two years his junior, I like to tease about being married to such an old guy.

What a cute post! I think that's such a better way to look at it than feeling down because it means we're getting older. His mustache is sweet! :) Happy birthday to him!

I love Skyler too, but not the same way you do. I hope it was a great year. I hope the next 30 are better than the first.
