This was Skyler's first time seeing Waimea Canyon (as this was my family's second trip to Kauai). It's hard to believe this exists on a Hawaiian island. The view was beautiful!

We stopped at every lookout for Waimea Canyon. The last spot overlooks the Napali Coast, supposedly one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Pirates of the Caribbean 4 was being filmed here at the same time we were in Kauai. I was on the lookout for Johnny Depp the entire week.
Since this was our last night on Kauai, my dad wanted family pictures during the sunset (we've done this for every trip we've been on). There are pictures of my whole family, but all of us are doing a half-blink in the one Robin sent to me. Maybe my mom has better pictures.
Our last full day also happened to be the 4th of July. I've always loved the 4th of July, but it's just not the same celebrating it while on vacation. That night we met up with a friend of Skyler's from high school (she lives on the island) and did our own fireworks. This was my first time setting off a firework myself. I'm a baby, I know.
I don't have any pictures from the next day because it was mostly a travel day. Plus, it wasn't any fun: return rental car, eat at McDonald's, everyone stresses out, check in luggage, get on plane, fly home, pick up cars from parking lot at LAX, drive home. Highlight of the day: eating Del Taco on our way home. As much fun as we had on the trip, it's good to be home.
And let's not forget about Pumpkin. Since our flight got in so late, I couldn't pick up Pumpkin until after work the next day. I don't know who was happier, me or her!! I could swear she had a smile on her face the whole car ride home. When we got home, she just wouldn't stop hugging me. I promise I didn't talk about her the entire time we were gone, but I certainly missed her the most.
